BACKGROUND

Astronaut Captain Buck Rogers is frozen on a space flight and awakes 500 years later in
the 25th Century to show the sterile atmostphere of New Chicago how groovy people were
in the long past days of the 1970's!

After the success of Larson's Battlestar Galactica, he brought a lighter concept to the
networks with the adventures of Buck trying to find his feet in a new world. A not entirely
successful attempt and fun SF, but it did have it's moments which usually involved Pamela
Hensley's superbly hammy and sultry Princess Ardala.

It was nenewed for a second season with Buck joining the starship Searcher to find missing
Earth colonists or some such nonsense and was cancelled mid-season...thank heavens!

TRIVIA FAX
Original 1930's Buck Rogers & Flash Gordon, Buster Crabbe appeared in the episode
Planet of the Slave Girls as an ageing pilot called (appropriately) Brigadier Gordon!

Many models and sound effects were taken from Larson's other SF show at the
time Battlestar Galactica.
