BACKGROUND

The series that revolutionized TV drama and influenced todays programmes quite rightly claim 
to be the BBC's finest drama ever. 
A gripping and envolving political drama that evolves into so much more as the story unfolds. 
Yorkshire copper Ronald Craven is investigating the murder of his Daughter,Emma and he soon 
uncovers her involvment with an ecological group called Gaia. What transpires is Craven's 
uncovering of political corruption and the ultimate conflict of Man vs. the Planet. 

The final haunting shot of the black flowers is a poignant reminder that the planet will always win.

All the rain in the series is totally artificial. 

To add realism to the production,BBC ex-Crimewatch presenter and Weatherman Bill Giles
play themselves. 

Director Martin Cambell went on to direct Pierce Brosnan' first outing as 007 in Goldeneye
with Joe Don Baker playing CIA agent Jack Wade which was Jedburgh in all but name.

Much of Eric Clapton's music was improvised in recording whilst syncing to a video playback. 

The series won BAFTA's for best drama,best actor and best original music. 

The final shot of  last episode Fusion was to have been a tree where Craven had been standing before.
