BACKGROUND

A sadly neglected gem this. The Flash was a superb series with great sets, excellent
production design and a witty script.Influenced unashamedly by the first Batman
movie (even down to Danny Elfman's theme!) this could be a dark and brooding show
but with equal comedic moments and sharp dialogue. 

John Wesley Shipp is outstanding as the scarlet speedster and it is tragic that he is
not seen more often today. Unfortunately it was another series which was a 'one season'
wonder and was cancelled in 1991.

TRIVIA FAX:

In the episode Alpha there is a reference to the Hotel Infantino which is a tribute to
comics artist Carmine Infantino who penciled The Flash for many years. 

British actress Amanda Pays appeared in the British pilot for Max Headroom in 1985 and
is married to Corbin Benson, formally of LA Law and The Cape. 

The original comics Flash was killed in DC Comics 1985 mega-epic Crisis on Infinite Earths! 

The Trickster is played by Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill.
