BACKGROUND

What can be said about Hancock's Half Hour other than it is pretty much where classic
comedy began. The scripts where by Galton and Simpson, two of the best comedy writers
of all time, and it starred (Amounts others) Tony Hancock, Sid James, Hattie Jacques, Kenneth
Williams, Bill Kerr, Moira Lister, John Le Mesurier, Arthur Mullard and Hugh Lloyd. 

Some of the best comedy talent of all time. The adventures of the lad himself has entertained millions 
all over the world for over forty years, and as one critic put it 'will continue to do so as long as there is 
a audience who can recognize genius. Episodes like the Blood Donor and The Lift will always be
remembered as the all time classics, but as with most great comedy it was not Hancock at his best. 

Gems like The Childhood Sweetheart are only the tip of the ice burg in a massive archive of British
radio and television comedy at it's very best.
