BACKGROUND

'There can be only One!' 

Not with this franchise, there isn't! The continuing adventures of the Clan Mcleod follows the
exploits of Duncan McLeod as he lives his 400 years chopping off heads and finding himself in
the mystic ways of the east. 

A rare breed this as it's a movie spin off that actually enriches and expands the original films themes. 
Running for 6 seasons, it has grown a loyal band of fans who have supported the show from the 
beginning and this has lead to a fourth Highlander movie that is based on the TV series 
and not a sequel to the Christopher Lambert films (although he does appear in the new one and
it carries on themes that were introduced in the first picture). 

With the Endgame not performing as well as many would have liked, maybe the franchise has 
really had it's final Quickening with even the spin-off series The Raven only lasting 
one season in 1999.

Christopher Lambert & Adrian Paul in the last film HIGHLANDER-ENDGAME (2000)

Lead Adrian Paul had previously played Kincaid in the second season of War of the Worlds. 

Christopher Lambert reprises his role of Conner McLeod in the series pilot The Gathering as
well as the recent feature film Highlander-Endgame. 

The series was said to be set in a parallel universe so not to contradict events in the movies.
However, the fourth movie can be viewed directly after watching the original 1986 film
...or so they say!!! 

Adrian Paul has screentested for the role of James Bond in 1995. 

A new film is in development following a new group of immortals called Highlander - The Source.
