BACKGROUND

Jeff Randall and Marty Hopkirk are Private Detectives until their partnership seemed to
be over, courtesy of a fatal hit and run accident involving Marty. But that would not have
made the series very interesting, so Marty came back as a ghost to help his living colleague
to continue solving the various cases that they took on.

Jean kept her position as agency secretary even though she was widowed, and throughout
the series we see Marty's attempts to contact her (failing every time!).

The only person that could communicate with Marty was Jeff and we would frequently
see Jeff talking to Marty, and then see it from an observers point of view and see Jeff
apparently talking to himself. Marty would help Jeff sometimes with his ghostly powers,
such as sudden gusts of wind coming from nowhere etc.
