BACKGROUND

Steve Austin-Astronaut. A man barely alive. We can rebuild him, we have the technology
to build the worlds first bionic man...better than he was before, better, stronger, faster..

So began each episode of proberly one of the most mocked series ever. Based on the
novel Cyborg by Martin Caiden, it told the story of Astronaut and NASA test pilot Steve
Austin who was rebuilt with cybernetics after a near fatal crash.

After coming to terms with his new bionics, Steve is recruited by the OSI (Office of
Strategic Investigations) under the command of Oscar Goldman who sends Steve on
high risk missions knowing his special abilities will give him a distinct advantage.

High on action and low on characterization, this show was a big hit for many years with
revival movies made in the late eighties which saw Steve and Jamie Sommers finally Bionic Ever After!
