BACKGROUND

Set in 2063 the show follows a group of US Marines at war against an mysterious alien
race.The show excels at showing the 58th as they change from a group of men and
women into a team. 

Created by X-Files producers Glen Morgan and James Wong, this was a warm series that
presented some interesting ideas on warfare and human nature.

Sometimes a little too serious for it's own good, it did usually make a fine balance between
good emotional drama and all out action with excellent CGI graphics to add the layer of a
superb looking production that was cancelled before it really took flight.

In the pilot, R. Lee Ermey's Sgt.Major Bougus is pretty much the same part he played
in Stanley Kubrick's 1986 war movie Full Metal Jacket.
