BACKGROUND

Based on the 1994 hit movie of the same name, Stargate SG1 continues the adventures
of Colonel O'Neill and his SG1 team as they do battle with the Goa'uld and discover new
worlds where a common ancestry has been discovered.

A rare exmaple of a movie spin-off going from strength to strength. A very slick production
design with excellent special effects, the show (like Highlander & Trek) continues to expand
the original premise and allow the characters to mature and develop. A superb series with
only a few duff episodes, it shows no sign of bowing out yet and has boasted a spin-off series
with Stargate-Atlantis and the animated Stargate-Infinity.
