BACKGROUND

The launch of Star Trek's fourth series was to move back into exploration and had the
crew of the USS Voyager stranded 70,000 light years away in the Delta Quadrant with
a journey of over seventy years to travel back home into Federation space.

The series was often criticized in it's early days for lack of good story-telling and uninvolving
plots. This may be so but it all changed with Season four when Jeri Ryan joined the cast as Borg
babe Seven of Nine

The quality went up and some excellent shows were made (The Year of Hell, Scorpion)
and the trend seems to be maintained (mostly!). With the series coming to a conclusion at
the end of the seventh year, we can only wait and see ehat will become of the crew and
if they get home at all.

TRIVIA FAX

In the 30th Anniversary episode Flashback, George Takei reprises his role of Captain
Sulu in events that were seen in the feature film Star Trek VI-The Undiscovered Country.

Actress Genevieve Bujold famously walked out of the set after 3 days of shooting the pilot
due to exhaustion at the long days of filming.

Duncan McNeill had previously been in TNG episode The First Duty playing disgraced
ensign Nicholas Locarno. This character was to have been bought into Voyager but the
producers felt he was beyond redemption so they created Paris instead for McNeill.

Jeri Ryan had previously appeared as Juliet in the cancelled series Dark Skies.

Admiral Janeway makes a cameo in Star Trek-Nemesis (2003).
