KINOKARNO FILM FESTIVAL 2005

REVERSING THE POLARITY played at the KinoKarno Film Festival in Greenwich, London on 4th November and was warmly received. Below is a review from the event:

A really funny spoof documentary about a cancelled TV sci fi show called TIMEQUAKE which gathers together the cast and crew to reminisce for the DVD release. The show TIMEQUAKE features dodgy eighties fashions and special effects. What really makes this film work is the fact that the old clips of TIMEQUAKE were actually filmed about 15 years ago so the actors do look a hell of a lot younger. Spoof documentaries are difficult to pull off, but this one is spot on.

Yes, it’s that time again…
This year’s Sutton Film Festival is being held on Sunday 27th November 2005 at the new venue of The Secombe Theatre in Sutton, Surrey. It’s a bit later this year due to shooting our first feature Return to Ravenswood.
This is the Festival’s fourth year and designed to be a showcase for new and existing filmmaker’s work and not a standard competition. We show national and (occasionally) international short films with budgets ranging from UKP 200 up to UKP 50,000 BBC shorts. It promises to be a great event.
Attending the festival are filmmaker’s, guests, writers, actors as well as the general public and both previous years of the event have been a great success.

This event is ideal for budding filmmakers, existing directors or anyone interested in movies.

NEW PRISONER NOVEL RELEASED MARCH 2005
Reversing the Polarity and Return to Ravenswood actor and writer Rupert Booth, has a new novel out next month based on Cult 60's TV Series The Prisoner. The Prisoner's Dilemma is the first of the new set of novels based on the Patrick McGoohan's 1967 TV series and is now available for pre-order at the Powys Media website.
Below is the press release:

The Prisoner's Dilemma, by Jonathan Blum and Rupert Booth, features an introduction by longtime Prisoner fanatic J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, The Amazing Spider-Man). Blum is the winner of last year's Aurealis Award for Best Australian SF Novel for Fallen Gods; Booth is a British filmmaker and comedy writer. A 120,000 word 327-page trade paperback, the book is available for $14.95.

The novel will be released in the last week of March in the US. For the UK and Australia, initially the books will only be available on import through specialty shops or the website, but full overseas distribution plans are currently being settled.

The surrealist spy series The Prisoner was the tale of a secret agent who resigns his job and is abducted by unknown parties who want the information in his head. He finds himself in a charming seaside village which is really an escape-proof Orwellian prison, and must fight to keep his mind intact in the face of his captors' twisted social and psychological mind-games. The novels are set just before the series' legendarily enigmatic final episodes. "The Prisoner's Dilemma" re-launches the series with a complex and paranoid tale of murder in the Village, the uses of terrorism, and the shaping of the Information Age.
