INTRODUCTION
This was a private investigation
to raise funds for Diabetes UK. We joined Norie Miles and colleagues at
UKPRS for an evening at this exclusive location
that is not normally available for
paranormal investigations.
We all arrived and met in the John
Fieldhouse Building which was to be our crew room for the night. The investigation
was organized by Norie Miles and
UKPRS to raise money for Diabetes.
There were three areas to investigate, the John Fieldhouse building, The
Holland 1 Submarine and the HMS Alliance.
We were split into two teams for
the night. Martin from UKPRS was our team leader for the night.
HISTORY
HMS Alliance was designed for service
in the Far East, but the war had ended before she could be put into action.
The A-Class was larger than its
predecessors and she had a range
of 10,000 miles at an economical surface speed. She had six bow torpedo
tubes, and four stern tubes. When she
was modernized during a refit between
1958 and 1960, the external tubes were removed, leaving four tubes at the
front and two at the rear; with a
total of ten reload torpedoes. She
also received a snorkel and better batteries. The conning tower was replaced
with the 25 foot aluminium fin that
enclosed all the masts and this
and some other streamlining made her quieter and faster underwater. She
was taken out of service and relegated to
harbour training in 1973, by which
time the Oberon and Porpoise Class boats formed the bulk of the submarine
fleet. Alliance was transferred permanently
to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum
at Gosport in February 1978. She now stands as a memorial to the 4,334
British submariners who gave their lives in
both world wars and to the 739 officers
and men who lost their lives in peacetime disasters.
Holland 1 was the first naval submarine
commissioned in 1901, and while being towed after being decommissioned,
she sunk on 5th November 1913. She
was raised in 1981 and moved to
the RNSM Gosport and treated for 4 years with sodium carbonate solution
to remove the corrosive chloride. In 2001 she
was placed in a new purpose built
climate controlled building. One thing that I found amazing is that when
she was raised, they took the battery out
and it still worked, how can a battery
that has been at the bottom of the sea for 60 years still do that.
The John Fieldhouse Building, was
opened in 2005 as part of an extension to the museum, and it holds the
X-craft mini submarine HMSX24 and several
other exhibits.

Marq and who else? |
VIGIL 1 - HMS ALLIANCE
I thought this was the best location
of the night; we started in the officer’s mess and conducted a séance.
At first it seemed quiet, but I had a
feeling of being watched from the
corridor by a Petty Officer. I had this confirmed as correct by one of
the staff who works there. Martin the Team
Leader suggested trying to bring
the energies of the spirits forward. The team channelled their energy and
thoughts while holding hands and meditating.
One member of the team volunteered
to have an outer facial body experience, and it was pointed out that the
team member’s face was changing.
We decided to try and make contact
with the use of a spirit board, but this was to no avail. We decided to
move onto one of the other bunk areas on
the submarine, and this is where
Marq decided to have a go at channelling a spirit/s. His actions were strange
at first making slight movements, and
then it was like he was dancing.
While the rest of the group was in this room I stayed in the corridor.
I had the sensation of being crushed and Marq
said some one had died of a heart
attack, I asked the member of staff and said that it wasn't a heart attack
he was feeling but the spirit had been
crushed by something and that it
had been an accident. Again this was confirmed as correct.
VIGIL 2 – HOLLAND 1
Some of the team decided to use
a spirit board. Some questions were asked and a few yes and no answers
were received but there were some answers
that came through hat did not make
sense at all, almost like the person trying to communicate couldn’t spell
or read. A team member Dave became very
angry and felt that he wanted to
argue with someone, he also had stabbing pains in his side. I went out
of the submarine as I kept seeing someone
walking around outside, which was
strange as we were all inside the Holland 1 at the time, again this was
confirmed as a regular occurrence by the
members of staff.
VIGIL 3 - HMS ALLIANCE
We started with a séance
in the Officers mess, and Marq decided to have another go at channelling,
and he started to move in a strange way
twisting and turning and also came
out with 2 names, one was James a name I had picked up earlier on our first
visit to this submarine, and the
second name was Karl. He came through
with a few answers to our questions, but it was very strained replies as
i think Marq was fighting the
sensation at the time.
CONCLUSION
All in all it was a fantastic night
and I enjoyed every minute of the investigation. I have to go back and
see the place again, but maybe in the
daytime so I can see more. |
